Alternatives - Use less chicken and you have more sauce. Use French dressing instead (I use light French) I always serve mine over rice and add extra dressing over it to make the rice cranberry-flavored. This is my mom's "famous" dish that she's served for years for everyone who comes over. It is fabulous. I impressed my in-laws with it and my mother-in-law is still talking about it years later. It's a regular staple for her now too!

In my family this is called christmas chicken, and we serve it with rice. I want to try to do it with pork to see if that is good too.

Wow!!! This is wonderful. My husband and I prepared this dish and we both loved the subtle, yet complex flavorings. He is planning to serve this for his guys' night.

this was very good. everyone enjoyed it. used bone-in chicken breasts and turned out very well. good flavor combo!

I thought it was to oniony....Maybe making it with fresh onions would be less pungent or omitting the soup mix.....

a/k/a Purple Chicken. My mother has been making this for years and I continue to follow. -only using chicken breasts though. Absolutely d-lish. Add some white rice and a salad, you're good to go. Even better served cold the next day! YUMMMMMMMY!

My family loves this recipe, i've made it several times. Great combination of flavors and it literally takes about 5 minutes to throw it together. My kids get excited when I tell them this is for dinner.

Great recipe. Loved the flavors. My husband loved it. I cut the recipe in half because it was only for My husband, son and me. I would make this again.

This was so good. I loved the combination of flavors. I also tried it on pork tenderloin and it turned out great. My family just had it last night and want to know how soon I am making it again.
