This was a hit at last year's holiday neighboorhood get together...it only took about 10 minutes to put it together, and was simple and tasty...people kept saying it was something different and yummy, and asked if it was hard to put together. Heck no! In fact, I'm making it again tonight :) Happy Holidays!

It was the most popular dish on the Christmas party table. Beforehand, I placed strips of paper towels along side the tree to mop up the excess oil from the pesto. I removed the towels before leaving the house. It made for a neater presentation. I used a cheese stick I had on hand and rolled it in chopped fresh chives. It gave the trunk a realistic look of needles. I had to lightly press them in so they would adhere, but the look was worth the extra step.

this was a big hit - I also made this without making a tree shape! Definitely a keeper!
