I MADE THIS FOR A CHRISTMAS WORK PARTY AND EVERYONE LIKED IT SO MUCH THEY WANTED ME TO MAKE ALL THE TIME!

This cake was extremely moist and flavorful. I will be making it again without the peppermint flavor to see how it tastes. Either way, I'm sure it is one of the best tasting cakes I've ever made.

My co-worker has brought this to work twice since finding the recipe. It's always gone within a couple of hours. Very yummy.

Made this twice with wonderful results. Used Peppermint flavoring instead of the crushed candy! I plan to make it again for Easter and use jelly beans for decoration.

We loved the bits of chocolate in the cake and loved the mint flavor. We didn't really love the way the candy canes melted into the icing. It looked pretty but I would leave the candy canes off next time.

This cake is so decadent- it's a real Christmas treat! I made this twice- one for my neighbor with regular store bought icing and one for my family with the cool whip. I got rave reviews- nobody could get enough. It's very rich and really tasty. Good enough for gift giving. Not only that, but it was truely easy to make -which is always a plus for busy moms.

I've made this cake twice and both time it was great! It was a real hit. The first time I didn't use the cool whip frosting, but did the second time and couldn't believe how good it was. This is now my husband's favorite cake!

Simply fantastic. I had previously read the comments about the candycane running so I allowed for this problem. I have a very picky family so if I can please them, bygolly, you have a very interesting recipe for one heck of a cake.

This cake tasted great, but I ran into problems with the candy canes "running" and frosting. I think next time I will try a cream cheese frosting instead.
