pkg. (13x9-inch pan size) brownie mix

pkg. (8 oz. each) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

cup sugar

tsp. vanilla

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

eggs

squares BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted, cooled slightly

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 325°F. Line 13x9-inch baking pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides of pan; grease foil. Prepare brownie batter as directed on package; pour into prepared pan. Bake 18 to 20 min. or until top of brownie is shiny and center is almost set.

MEANWHILE, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add sour cream; mix well. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition just until blended. Spoon over partially baked brownie batter in pan. (Filling will come almost to top of pan.)

BAKE 40 min. or until center is almost set. Run knife or metal spatula around rim of pan to loosen cake; cool completely. Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Let stand at room temperature 30 min. before serving. Lift cheesecake from pan, using foil handles. Drizzle with chocolate; let stand until chocolate is firm. Cut into 16 bars to serve. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.

This recipe was great. I never made cheesecake before and everyone thought I bought these from a bakery. They were delicious but I will say they do take a lot of work. I also think the foil is unnecessary but I am afraid not to use it. I've made this recipe 4 times and the brownie mix by duncan hines works best. Thanks for the recipe, it was overall a great recipe.

Made this receipe for Christmas Eve - it was a hit! Only problem, when cutting into bars, the chocolate drizzle broke, any suggestions? Still a delicious receipe and was asked where I found it and could I give them the receipe!!! *****

I cooked the brownie layer for 18 min. The cheesecake layer split while cooking and my chocolate stripes weren't perfect BUT this was so good. I would make it again. My family thought it was very good.

After reading some of the reviews I to was afraid to make them.....If you follow the recipe exactly the way it states you can't go wrong !!!!!!!!!!! Trust me I'm not big on baking !!!!! I made them for Christmas and everyone LOVED them...........I also made the jello cake that was awesome..........

The brownie did not cook. Gooey messy - Christmas Eve. Saved it by swirling the cooked cheesecake into the still uncooked brownie, and baking again. That turned out ok, but nothing like i was expecting. Never again.

This was so easy to make! I am a total beginner in the kitchen and everyone oooeeed and aahhhd over this dessert! Thanks Kraft for making look like I know what I'm doing!

This was definetly the best of the meal! I had so many compliments. The only thing I would do different is let the brownie cook for 5 more minutes before adding the cheescake topping. I am cooking this again for Christmas.

My children and I made this together today (12-23-05) for a family Christmas dinner. We had alot of fun and will do it for all our family dinners.

Word to the wise - do not use a brownie mix that requires chocolate syrup. The cheesecake portion of this recipe was fine however the brownie portion was just a big gooey mess. It was also very hard to cut and I just simply did not think it was worth the effort. Needless to say I won't be making this again.

I made this recipe for the first time on Thanksgiving. My nephew who loves cheesecake replied this way, " I think Aunt Kathy just found a way to make cheesecake even better". I am making it again on Christmas. It has become a Holiday tradition.
