I brown my meat then add 2 envelopes of oxo with half a cup of water to make a gravy then thichen it with flour or cornstarch, omitting the canned soup. My way turns out great.

I made this recipe, but as a previous reviewer suggested, I added onions, peppers along with garlic and a pinch of cayenne pepper and it was EXCELLENT! Plus to make it healthier, I used ground round, reduced fat cheese, no fat milk, brown rice and hopefully saved a few fat and calories!

This is a wonderful recipe that you can be creative with. It can also be festive, add rasins and olives, sweet corn and carrots to the meat and you can color the rice(red and green for christmas). It is amazing!!!!

I loved this recipe it's like a one dish meal and very filling. Instead of the peas alone I added peas and carrots for more color and add I added the three cheese instead of the two on the recipe. I also added parsley with the rice and added a couple of teaspoons of lemon juice for more flavor.

Quick and my husband liked it. This would be one to experiment with different ingredients.

I added one can of diced tomatoes (undrained), pleanty of salt and pepper and both cheddar and mozzarella cheeses as that was what I had on hand. The tomatoes added alot of flavor and color and I strongly reccomend it. I also had a can of cream of mushroom soup and not the cream of celery the recipe called for. It was very good...

11-19-05 ROLL TIDE !!! We had our Thanksgiving meal with my husband's family today. A HIT !!!!! I did add to this, I added half a can more cream of celery and I left out the thyme, but I added onions and bell pepper and creole seasoning to the mixture, and used garlic powder also. WILL USE AGAIN AND AGAIN !!!!!!
