I prepared this two nights ago and let the meat sit in the sauce overnight and then cook for 6 hours yesterday. While I dont eat meat - my parents were in town visiting my 'other half' & I and they each said it was fantastic. I added another cup or so of kraft honey bbq dressing, cut out the flour, and added extra honey, and mustard...and used a about 1/2 cup of water to get the sauce out of each bottle...then let it sit over night, and after it was finished yesterday afternoon they raved about it...I will be making this again!
My favorite beef dish is short ribs, and this is one of the most flavorful, tender recipes I have ever cooked. My family requests this dish once a month.
I added some chicken broth because it didn't look like enough liquid for my big slow-cooker. They were excellent and the house smelled so good when we got home.
I used country style ribs but no one really cared for the recipe. No one had second servings.
This was the best rib recipe that I have ever had. I used country ribs instead of short ribs.
Extremely easy!!! My household of men loved it. I did not have the problem with extra fat that others complained of. Also, at the end I took the meat out and dumped some minute rice into the cooker with the sauce. My boys invite their friends over for this meal.
The recipe was easy to make but it was a bit sweet. The ribs or mixture of sauce made them very greasy. I'll admit they were very tender. Once they were done, I put them in the over to give them a fuller flavor to absorb some of the grease.
I tried it the first time and it was very good. My son and I loved this recipe that we make it twice month; if I can find some short ribs at store. I added some carrots, potatoes and peas to add some veg. to the meal. but now and then it gets dry out. But its still good and this one is a keeper for us for years to come.
I tried this recipe with country style ribs. It was very good and not as fatty.
This dish was very good but this particular cut of meat is very fatty so there was alot of excess fat in my slow cooker. Other than that it was delicious.
