OMG@ I've been making this for several years by accident -- had a craving for potato skins one night, but was low on the toppings; mixed up the little bit of sour cream I had on hand with a little onion dip then added the cheese & bacon! We loved it & now I make it to dip french fries in! Never thought to use on crackers - just made to feed a craving!

I made tripled this recipe easily for a party. It got a lot of raves and is so simple to make. There was a bit left over and it made a great topping for backed potatoes the next day.

I added more cheese and bacon than the recipe called for and also added a little bit of garlic powder. It went over very well at the party I made it for. I'll try mixing in the ranch packet next time!
