What You Need

pkg. (2-layer size) devil's food cake mix

pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate

1/4

cup butter

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/2

cup sugar

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

OREO Cookies, coarsely crushed

Make It

HEAT oven to 350ºF.

PREPARE cake batter and bake in 2 (9-inch) round pans as directed on package. Cool cakes in pans 10 min. Invert onto wire racks; gently remove pans. Cool cakes completely.

MICROWAVE chocolate and butter in small microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cool 5 min. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Gently stir in COOL WHIP and crushed cookies.

PLACE 1 cake layer on plate, spread with cream cheese mixture. Top with remaining cake layer. Spread top with chocolate glaze; let stand 10 min. or until firm. Keep refrigerated.

This is a favorite birthday request at our house. My 10-yr old practices her icing piping skills following the example of the design on an Oreo, using white icing. So cute and delicious!

this was just awesome. made it for a friend and i didn't notice it until i gave it to him, but it looks like the mother of all giant oreos. lol. tasted great, like a cake with oreo cheesecake cheescake wedged in between it. :)

I'm not a great dessert maker, but I've made this cake three times and it's been a hit everytime. The last time I baked it and took it to a church function, several folks asked me for the recipe. That usually isn't the case! Thanks for this wonderful recipe that if I can make it, anyone can.

This cake is awesome. I made it last year twice around the holidays, and I plan to do it again this year. My whole family liked it. it is easy, tasty, and it does not take long.
