What You Need

pkg. (2-layer size) devil's food cake mix

pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate

1/4

cup butter

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/2

cup sugar

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

OREO Cookies, coarsely crushed

Make It

HEAT oven to 350ºF.

PREPARE cake batter and bake in 2 (9-inch) round pans as directed on package. Cool cakes in pans 10 min. Invert onto wire racks; gently remove pans. Cool cakes completely.

MICROWAVE chocolate and butter in small microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cool 5 min. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Gently stir in COOL WHIP and crushed cookies.

PLACE 1 cake layer on plate, spread with cream cheese mixture. Top with remaining cake layer. Spread top with chocolate glaze; let stand 10 min. or until firm. Keep refrigerated.

I took this cake to work to share with friends. Everyone loved it! It was much better the day after I made it.

I made 2-8" rounds (vs 9") and only used 8 oz of Coolwhip. I had plenty of filling, almost 2 inches thick. 16oz would of been overflowing...the finished product looks like you spent hours on it when it was so easy....big hit!

This is a very good cake. Although I made it with a bake and fill pan... and it tastes wonderful. It may be a bit more sweeter, but it still tastes very good. My 4 kids like it and they said they don't mind being the testees when the desserts look really good. I also made it for my M.O.P.S. group and they liked it also. Really tastes good with ICE COLD MILK.

Yummy...great cold. Also, for an extra choclate frosting add 1 more square of the chocloate. Top it off by adding extra Oreos around it on the plates.

the easiest, most delicious and beautiful cake. Did not last 5 min on the plate once we cut it.
