I made this "chocolate style" and it came out great! After reading some reviews I was concerned about the final product being sloppy. I cooked mine for 1hr and it was perfectly fine. I think what takes the cake is how think you get the pudding. I used my mixer on high for 3 minutes for a think consistency. Will make again - will try different flavors!

This recipe was a hit last thanksgiving on the dessert table. Will be making it again this year as it is my daughter in-laws favorite. I did add a tsp of lemon extract to the cake mix to give a more lemony flavor.

I thought this was just o.k. my hubby liked it but he really loves lemon. It didn't look like the picture and was a bit runny. I might try it again but wasn't impressed with the first go.

I have made it as listed and made it with chocolate cake & pudding. Both are great. A bit messy, but worth it. I wondered if making it in 2 round cake pans would have the same outcome? that way I could take one to a pot luck and keep one home to enjoy. I have been asked for this recipe several times and just refer them to the Food & Family cookbooks. Awesome winter comfort food!

This was just OK with my husband and I, not much of a lemon taste and pudding bubbles out of the pan while baking. Will not make again, not worth the mess it made.

This is absolutely the best dessert I've ever made - and I'm not really crazy about lemon! It comes out looking just like the photo. Lovely cake on top and warm creamy lemon pudding on the bottom. I've made it half a dozen times this summer. My friends just love it! I bake it in an attractive glass baking pan, and use a serving spoon to scoop it out. I keep saying I'm going to try different puddings, but I'm really stuck on the lemon!

After an hour and l5 minutes of cooking, the cake was still not cooked, while warm, there was not much cake consistency, it was more pudding than cake, it looked like the cake dough did not rice like a normal cake would, and the pudding took over the consistency of the dish, it did not taste bad, but it did not look as the picture on the web site.
