I made this in my slow cooker....It was very delicious, especially on a cold day. My only problem was that the carraots and potatoes were still a little hard were meat was done. It may have just been my preference since I like my meat not so well done. Also, I cooked on high all day so this might have cooked the meat too quick??? I did not include the bacon or mushrooms, just as our family's preferece. It was so yummy and I will definately make again!!

We made this in the slow cooker, and it was fantastic - the meat was incredibly tender! The recipe as is, is a little light on flavor. We added the suggested thyme, which helped and just a little salt and pepper(individually.) That was perfect.

I have made this stew many times and it is very flavorful. I do not drain the bacon grease because there is so little there and it gives something in which to cook the mushrooms and the onion. This recipe is one of my family's favorite because it is so different in taste from the usual beef stew recipes. Other family members and friends have asked for a copy of this recipe.

Very Good! I wanted more juice so I added a cup of water with a bullion cube in it. My husband doesn't like carrots or mushrooms so I cut them in half. It was still a lot but I enjoyed it.

Very flavorful, meat was tender. Good enough to make for company. At the end, I thickened it with a flour/water mixture.

This recipe did take some prep time but it was well worth it. I followed the recipe and made it in my crockpot. The marinade gives it plenty of flavor. My husband even asked if I would make it again next week!

Dear Kraft Foods. I actually found this recipe in one of your magazines sometime ago. It has become a family favorite. My 16 year old son says it is the best ever, "his favorite meal". I somtimes serve it in bread bowls I found in another article. WOW! What a great way to show off in front of company, just serve with a salad. How simple and easy, just delicious. Thanks so much.
