Perfect Winter Beef Stew

Perfect Winter Beef Stew recipe
"Tasty" barely begins to describe this stew. With savory beef, rich bacon, veggies and hearty potatoes, "perfect" is a much closer word.

My husband and I made this in our crockpot. It was really good! We both enjoyed it and ate on it for a few days!

I made this recipe in the crock pot. It was delicious. I think the only thing it needed was a little salt. I did add the thyme. I doubled the recipe and marinated the meat for about 1 hour. This is great with crusty Italian bread to dip in the juice.

My husband loved this stew. I will be making it often. I added thyme to the recipe for extra flavor. Very Good!!

This was great! The bacon gave it a really uniquie, smoky flavor. I was out of thyme, so I threw a bay leaf in. Delicious!

This is one of the best beef stews I've ever made. It's delicious. Brought some over for my mother-in-law for dinner and she said it was the "best" beef stew she's ever had. Delicious!

This is delicious. Followed the recipe and won't change a thing when I make it again. It does make a lot so use a large kettle. The stew meat is tender and delicious -- I'm sure this due to marinating it in the Italian dressing.

Super easy recipe, turned out great! I mixed in a packet of Lipton onion & mushroom mix w/the beef broth and threw in some frozen peas as others mentioned. I prepared it in the slow cooker (6hrs on High).

WOW!! Is this ever good!! I've made beef stew once before, & it was never this good! I omitted the mushrooms & I did add a bay leaf, some pepper & oregano for some zest. Lastly, I served with homemade cheddar & garlic biscuits. Excellent!!

I made this last night, and my husband loved it! I omitted the mushrooms and added frozen baby peas, making it a little more traditional. I couldn't believe it tasted just like my mother's stew.....which has been a family favorite for years! I'll definitely make this again.
