Perfect Winter Beef Stew

Perfect Winter Beef Stew recipe
"Tasty" barely begins to describe this stew. With savory beef, rich bacon, veggies and hearty potatoes, "perfect" is a much closer word.

My husband and I loved this! (and I usually hate stew) I added a bag of frozen green beans too. My gravy was a bit watery, probably from the added beans, but a bit of flour did the trick and didn't change the taste. I made biscuits with this, but would like to try cornbread next time - Yum!

I've made this stew at least 4 times. I used whole baby carrots & small red potatoes (no peeling) I think it's the Italian dressing & bacon that really make it different than my 'usual' stew. (and a splash of hearty burgundy) There's never any left-overs, tho. Delicious!

I loved this, I also made it to take to a friend who had an ill family member at home, and gave the recipe to my son to add to his collection.

I'm not a stew person, however, I did enjoy this recipe. My husband really loved it, it reminded him of his childhood, I'll make for him more often, it's the perfect dish on a cold winter day.

I made this recipe last winter when it was on the calendar. It was the best recipe for stew I have ever had...for the 1st time ever there was no leftover stew. My daughter who despises stew (we used to eat it often) actually loved it. This is a keeper!
