I followed the recipe except I doubled it so we'd have leftovers. Everyone loved it. My husband & I love mushrooms but my kids don't. I included them anyway--they just had to pick them out. I would definitely make again.
I make a similar recipe to this ALL the time! I don't use the tomato or mushrooms. I use the dressing, bbq sauce, broth, and onion soupd mix. Then beef, carrots, and potatoes. It's it out of a Kraft food magazine a few years ago.
I love beef stew but my husband doesn't. He hate it with a passion! I never made beef stew before til tonight. It came out good not great. My son seems to like it and my husband still doesn't like it. I added Thyme, Garlic powder and black pepper to give it more taste. I would cook this again only for people who like beef stew.
This stew was just okay. It was really sweet-tasting. It may have been the dressing we used, but I don't care for sweet-tasting meats.
we did not like this, as it was very bland and a lot of sodium for us. Would not make it again.
This beef stew had wonderful flavor & was very easy to prepare. Thumbs up by all family members. I did make a variation to this recipe by also adding boneless pork steak in the same proportion as the beef. Also added four stalks of sliced celery, along with one half of a green bell pepper. Would definitely make this again
I have never made or tasted a beef stew as delicious as this. Next time I think I may make a double batch!

This is THE best recipe I've had for homemade beef stew. I alter by low sodium/low fat & organic food items. The flavor is excellent. Also a great recipe to put in a large crockpot and simmer all day long. When I make this, people ask for the recipe!
I have made this several times and is a huge hit at our house. Even served it on Christmas Day and everyone was asking for the recipe. I like to marinate the steak overnight but I have also only marinated in an hour and it was still good. I have also put in some ch. gr. bell peppers and some celery and garlic powder. This was FANTASTIC! You can make this stew just as recipe calls or add your own touches and it will always be great!!!
