This was WONDERFUL! I used Mexican Style stewed tomatoes because that's all I had in the cupboard and it turned out GREAT, not too spicy. I love the bacon in it. I also thickened it a bit at the end with flour/water, because we like our stew thicker. I will make again and again! Thanks.

My family and son's girlfriend loved it! Sarah, the girlfriend, knew right away that there was bacon in it. Very good for you on a cold winter day or anyday for that matter, and delicious! Thanks!

The meat was so tender. This is a very simple and easy to make stew. Even my 14 year old liked it.

Me and my two boys love this stew. But I put 1lb of bacon in it.We are meat eater. My husband said it was to salty. So if you have to watch your salt intake I would stick to the recipe.DorisA...Ohio

I made this recipe in a Crock Pot by cutting down on the beef broth. I also used Italian Style Stewed tomatoes in place of regular tomatoes. It received raves from family and guests!

I took out the bacon and added corn and greenbeans because my kids would rather eat veggies. It was great. I did have to cook it longer that stated. I also had to turn the heat up, simmer wasn't hot enough.
