This is a very easy recipe to follow. I made this one afternoon spur of the moment for a friend that was feeling down. They loved it.
worth every minute of prep. Had to add 1 tbsp of flour to thicken broth. Delicious.
This stew is great!!! We have made it several times and it great every time.
I make this recipe all the time. I cook the marinated stew meat first and let it get a little caramelization on it and then add the onions and mushrooms and let them cook a few minutes to absorbed the beef flavor. I also add a few beef boullion cubes for flavor as well
This was a really good tasting dish. It was a surprize at first, because you can taste a hint of the Italian dressing that was used to marinate the beef. I added some garlic powder, salt, and pepper. I also used celery sliced into 1/4" slices which I added at the same time as the onion and mushroom. I also added 2 bay leaves and a pinch of allspice during the simmering process. My husband said it was the best beef stew he had ever had, and I make a very good recipe that I learned from my grandmother. I will have to make this dish when we have a group over, as I am sure it will please their palates! I served it with crescent rools and butter. I definately recommend this dish.
Added in green beans too and it worked well.

This was delish! My husband doesn't like onions, so I used about 3 green onions, diced - he had no idea!! The stewed tomatoes that I used also had red pepper, celery, and onions. I only added baby red potatoes! It was perfect and a hit at our home!!
Frankly, we found it rather bland. Tasting it after we had let it sit in the fridge overnight and adding some garlic powder we liked it better. If we actually do make it again, we'd sautee some actual minced garlic cloves (3 or 4?) and add that to the concoction.
