Perfect Winter Beef Stew recipe

this was a very easy recipe and very tasty. the thyme added a very good flavor. this was the first time I had marinated my meat, I always browned it off first, which gave it a "bitter" taste. Thank you, KMS

Instead of eating the bacon in the stew you could cook the baconn and then add it in for flavor & then discard bacon when meal is to be served.

Oh please, get a grip. This recipe is fine, just add stuff to it that you and you're family will like. That's what cooking's all about. You look at a recipe, decide what's in it that you're family would like and "redo" it to fit your own family. I don't think you have to be a rocket science to figure that out. This is a good "basic" recipe. Now, get creative in your own kitchens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cooking in a slow cooker makes this an easy dish to make when you have to work. It is both delisious and easy to make.

I found that although the bacon gave a very nice flavor, it has too many fat calories for my taste
