We gave taco salad a makeover but kept the classic ingredients and included an ingenious way to make the shell. You get to deliver a family-restaurant favorite.

What You Need

flour tortillas (8 inch)

3/4

lb. extra-lean ground beef

Tbsp. chili powder

cup rinsed canned kidney beans

1/2

cup TACO BELL® Thick & Chunky Salsa

cups packed torn mixed salad greens

1/2

cup KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

large tomato, chopped

Tbsp. KRAFT Lite Ranch Dressing

Make It

HEAT oven to 425°F.

CRUMPLE 4 sheets of foil to make 4 (3-inch) balls; place on baking sheet. Top each with 1 tortilla; spray with cooking spray. Bake 6 to 8 min. or until tortillas are golden brown. (Tortillas will drape over balls as they bake to form shells.)

MEANWHILE, brown meat with chili powder in large nonstick skillet. Stir in beans and salsa; cook 3 to 5 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally.

FILL tortilla shells with salad greens, meat mixture, cheese and tomatoes. Drizzle with dressing.

We did not quite have 3/4 lb of ground beef so we added a small can of corn as well as the kidney beans and some peppers and onions. It was delicious. The shells were fantastic. I personally prefer the sour cream instead of ranch dressing. VERY FILLING!!!

This was pretty easy for me to manage, and I'm not a cooker. It turned out real good and my friends loved it!

This was great! So easy to do. The only differance was we didn't add the beans since no one in my family likes them. My son, the pickiest eater, loved it. Told me that I made the best tacos ever.

This is a very good recipe. I usually use whole wheat tortillas, which are excellent.

This is a great way to have a taco salad bowl without having to deep fry it. It is quick and easy and my kids even love it. The filling recipe is great too. Very tasty!

This recipe is very good. I didn't add the kidney beans. And I used sour cream instead of ranch dressing. Watch the flour tortillas, they will cook fast. In my gas oven they only took 5 minutes. And make sure you make a good size ball of foil. Don't let the tortillas touch the baking sheet they will burn. I will make this recipe again, again and again.

Yum! The tortillas were a nice, healthy alternative to a fried taco shell. And much easier! Tweak this recipe to include all of your favorite taco fixings. Will definitely be making this again.
