What You Need

lb. extra lean ground beef

Tbsp. MIRACLE WHIP Light Dressing

Tbsp. KRAFT Lite Zesty Italian Dressing, divided

large onion, sliced

slices whole grain bread

KRAFT 2% Milk Singles

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Mix meat and MIRACLE WHIP. Shape into four patties; set aside.

HEAT 1 Tbsp. of the Italian dressing in large nonstick skillet. Add onions; cook on medium-high heat 10 min. or until onions are golden brown and tender, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet. Add patties; cook on medium heat 5 min. on each side or until cooked through (160°F).

SPRAY baking sheet with cooking spray. Brush bread with the remaining 2 Tbsp. Italian dressing. Place 4 of the bread slices, dressing-sides down, on prepared baking sheet; top evenly with the 2% Milk Singles, onions and meat patties. Cover with the remaining bread slices, dressing-sides up. Bake 20 min., turning sandwiches after 10 min.

The addition of MIRACLE WHIP to these patties makes them more flavorful, but also more fragile. For fool-proof cooked patties, flip the patties just once during the baking process, as directed in recipe, and use just the 2 Tbsp. measure of MIRACLE WHIP listed in recipe.

Prepare as directed, using KRAFT DELI DELUXE 2% Milk Reduced Fat Pasteurized Process American Cheese Slices.

The Miracle Whip added just the right moistness to the low fat ground beef. Even with low fat cheese it tasted like a real treat.

I thought this recipe was excellent and my husband loved them too!! I liked the crispiness of the bread and the onions and melted cheese all went together very well. Will be added to my favorite recipe list.

I made this recipe and added the miracle whip to the hamburger - that was a big mistake! My patties did not stick together at all and don't know the reasoning behind adding miracle whip to hamburger. Next time I make patty melts I will make my hamburgers as usual on the grille and not add any miracle whip. I was very disappointed in this recipe. I will not be making this again.

I cooked the onions and mixed it in with the meat and mayo mixture and then made my patties. Ate on whole wheat hamburger buns. Very scrumptious!

We liked this recipe. I did not use the onions and I used A-1 sauce in the meat instead of Miracle Whip. Very tasty. I will make these again.

This was very easy to make. My family liked it. I did not put onions on the patties to bake, because my family does not like the actual onion on it. The flavor was very good.
