Updated Fettuccine Carbonara

We took one of the richest pastas around and turned it into a delicious low-fat alternative. It's not only brilliant, it's downright delectable.

What You Need

1/2

lb. fettuccine, uncooked

cup frozen peas

1/4

cup PHILADELPHIA 1/3 Less Fat than Cream Cheese

1/4

cup KRAFT Lite Creamy Caesar Dressing

Tbsp. flour

cup fat-free milk

pkg. (6 oz.) OSCAR MAYER Smoked Ham, cut into short strips

1/4

cup chopped fresh parsley

Tbsp. KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

It's for dipping and dunking and mixing-upping. And yes, for salad too.

Make It

COOK pasta in large saucepan as directed on package, adding peas to the boiling water for the last 3 min.

MEANWHILE, beat cream cheese, dressing and flour in medium saucepan with whisk until well blended. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until mixture is well blended. Add ham; cook on medium-low heat 5 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally.

DRAIN pasta mixture; return to pan. Add sauce; mix lightly. Cook 2 to 3 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Top with parsley and Parmesan.

My family loved it. I made it just as recommended and it worked out great. I have one son that won't eat anything but chicken but will sometimes settle for ham and he ate every bit without one complaint. Thanks it was wonderful!!!

It's more like a sweet alfredo sauce. I had to double the sauce because there wasn't enough. I also added a little extra milk in the end. I used sauteed mushrooms and garlic instead of peas. I also didnt use ham. It was good. Would make again.

I used leftover egg noodles, cut up chicken breast, and substituted half cup of half and half for half of the milk. My husband and I loved it. We will definately make it again.

I doubled the sauce, like others suggested, and it was a little too much sauce for our taste. It was good - not our absolute favorite, but good for something different.

Wow, this recipe was easy and tasted great. My whole family loved it even my VERY picky four year old. I doubled the recipe so we could have left overs for lunches. I will make this one again soon.

this is good, but it is NOT Carbonara, true Carbonara does not have a creamy sauce, this IS more like an Alfredo, and it does call for eggs, which is a main ingredient! I think the name is misleading, and if you order Carbonara in an Italian restaurant it will NOT be creamy, if it is, it is not made right. I would put this under Creamy pasta and chicken.

I make this from scratch quite often and this version was soooo much easier and just as tasty. I did use bacon rather than the ham, but the sauce was just as thick as the homemade version and much more flavorful. This is not an alfredo, so the sauce is not at thick as that and it is not suppose to be, this is a carbonara and I thought it was exceptional.

I made this recipe for my family recently. They loved it. Very easy to make. I added cream to the sauce, it really perked up the flavor. Great recipe for using leftover ham.
