Apple-Caramel Sundae Tart

What could be better than a beautiful dessert that tastes like caramel apples? A ready-made crust and apple pie filling make it a cinch.

What You Need

KRAFT Caramels

cup plus 3 Tbsp. cold milk, divided

HONEY MAID Graham Pie Crust (6 oz.)

1/4

cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans

pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

1-1/2

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

can (21 oz.) apple pie filling

Make It

MICROWAVE caramels and 3 Tbsp. milk in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. or until smooth, stirring after 1 min. Pour 1/3 cup sauce into small microwaveable bowl; refrigerate until ready to use. Pour remaining sauce into crust; top with nuts.

BEAT pudding mix and 1 cup milk in medium bowl with whisk 2 min. Stir in COOL WHIP. Spoon into crust. Freeze 4 hours or overnight.

SPOON apple pie filling over pie. Microwave reserved caramel sauce on HIGH 30 sec. or until warmed; stir. Drizzle over pie. Let stand 15 min.

Very simple and very delicious! Just keep in mind the freeze time so you can made it early enough.

Great! We had a bake off at work won second place. I tweeked the recipe a little and added cream cheese to it. WOW, taste like a real cheese cake from a bakery.

This was divine! I definitely agree with some other commenters, if you can't eat this in one setting, add the apples as you go.

This is very good, but you need enough people to finish it off during the first serving. I kept throwing it back in the freezer. Took us about 3 days to finish. That worked but it was really hard at times. aAso I left the apples off and only added them with to each slice as I served it. I even warmed the apples a bit. That was really good.

I've made this twice now and it was one of the best desserts I've had both times! The only thing I'd recommend is that, based on other reviews, I used caramel sundae topping instead of melting caramels. I'm sure this makes it a lot less messy in preparation also. This tart is also best served at times when you have enough people present to eat it all in one sitting. After being in the refrigerator for a short time, the pie gets pretty "melty" and messy - still tastes great though! I suppose you could try refreezing it also.

This is such a good dessert. The only thing I would correct was the hardened caramel and I would use real apples. The canned apples was too sweet for me.

i agree about the freezing situation, and a caramel topping would be better, and save a little time as well, other than that the pie tasted great!
