Apple-Caramel Sundae Tart

What could be better than a beautiful dessert that tastes like caramel apples? A ready-made crust and apple pie filling make it a cinch.

What You Need

KRAFT Caramels

cup plus 3 Tbsp. cold milk, divided

HONEY MAID Graham Pie Crust (6 oz.)

1/4

cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans

pkg. (3.4 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

1-1/2

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

can (21 oz.) apple pie filling

Make It

MICROWAVE caramels and 3 Tbsp. milk in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. or until smooth, stirring after 1 min. Pour 1/3 cup sauce into small microwaveable bowl; refrigerate until ready to use. Pour remaining sauce into crust; top with nuts.

BEAT pudding mix and 1 cup milk in medium bowl with whisk 2 min. Stir in COOL WHIP. Spoon into crust. Freeze 4 hours or overnight.

SPOON apple pie filling over pie. Microwave reserved caramel sauce on HIGH 30 sec. or until warmed; stir. Drizzle over pie. Let stand 15 min.

MY HUSBAND LIKED THIS,BUT HE SAID IT TASTED TO MUCH LIKE APPLES ONLY.SO-I PUT LESS APPLES ON TOP.

It was very good and easy to make. My only recommendation would be to add a little sugar and nutmeg and heat the apple filling before putting on pudding mixture. Also, would like to try on a cheesecake instead of whipped topping, because it can get really messy with whipped topping.

It was very easy to make. Took it to work & everyone loved it. The caramel was very hard to cut when it came out of the freezer but I let it soften in the refrigerator and that solved that problem. I will make it again.

I made this and my husband took to supercross for a tailgate party. Everyone loved it. Some friends of ours hid it in their ice chest so they could have more later. Everyone loved it. I will definately make it again.

This tart is wonderful! I made it exactly by the recipe except I froze it overnight and then set it out about 3 hours before serving. It was easy to cut. I also heated the pie filling. I will definetely make this again!

I was excited to try this, but was very disappointed with the results. The caramel in the bottom is a bad, bad idea. It's impossible to cut when it's frozen, and even after being at room temp for a couple of hours, it was nearly impossible to get a fork through it. As a previous reviewer said, not worth the hassle.

The caramel was like a cement :( I had a heck of a time cutting it and my husband and daughter couldn't eat what I did manage to cut because the caramel turned into a rock.

I tried it on the guys at work and we decided to heat the apple pie filling. Everyone loved it. I cut the whole pie with a sharp knife and had no problems getting it out. Will make again, have passed this recipe on to co-workers and my homemakers group.

The taste isn't worth the fight to remove a slice from the pie pan.
