The cake itself was really good, but the icing just wasn't very tasty. It tasted, as my husband put it, "Like melted chocolate bars." Which is exactly what it was. I really didn't like it, and it was difficult to spread. I think next time I would use the cake and use frosting from a can or make it from scratch.

This was the best chocolate cake I've ever made! I substituted sugar free pudding, Egg Beaters, applesauce for the oil, Lite Cool Whip, and pecans. I was weary of the Cool Whip/melted chocolate combo for a frosting, but the results were amazing! Every one raved about how professional the cake looked, and the flavor was just awesome. It's very rich, so cut the pieces small or garnish with a little whipped cream.

I have made this cake several times. I use a chocolate frosting rather than the cool whip. It is a yummy cake and easy to slice and carry. My family loves it.

The cake was not sweet at all. No one in my family would eat a second piece. This is not according to my family a cake that they would ever eat again. We had to throw it out.

My husband said this was the best chocolate cake he'd ever had! The icing was very runny, which made it hard to spread on the cake, but with a little patience it worked. If you make it ahead of time, (like the night before) don't put the toasted almonds on until right before you serve it, because they get mushy.

The Icing was really runny so I added a tsb. of powered sugar and it worked just dandy.

The icing did not come out very well and it was a little rich.

THIS IS THE BEST TASTING CAKE I HAVE HAD IN YEARS. IT WAS SO EASY TO THROW TOGETHER AND BAKE. IF I EVER NEED A QUICK DESSERT, THIS IS NUMBER ONE ON MY LIST. THIS CAKE ALSO STAYS MOIST TILL ITS ALL GONE.
