Great cake and easy to make. I am a "amatuer" chef so I have just recently started trying new recipes. This one made me look and feel like I knew what I was doing. The cake tastes wonderful - you need to be a big chocolate fan for this one! I agree with some of the other reviewers - the icing was a bit too thin to ice the cake well. But it still tasted great!

Wanted to make this ahead and serve the next night. I froze the layers. Next day, I made the frosting. Frosting was still too hot to spread on cake after the 5 minute cool time. Put frosting mixture in freezer for a while. Still did not spread very well. Was too thin to stay on cake. Did not turn out as pretty as picture.

I made this for my son's Family Fun Night at his school. It was the first cake to go in the cake walk. Couldn't believe how easy it was to make and it looked so professional. I did substitute chopped walnuts for the almonds and it looked great.

Everyone loved this cake! It was easy and the frosting came out just right. The frosting makes the cake look like you bought it at a store! Thanks

I brought this cake to a friends house for a dinner party and the other guests thought that she had bought it from a professional bakery!! It looked as pretty as the picture here and tasted even better! Thanks for such a great recipe!

Good for the dark chocolate lovers. Easy to make. I was a little leary of microwaving the Cool Whip and chocolate but it came out to a delicious and easy to apply glaze.

This cake was easy to make, and looks so nice when it's finished. Looks like a bakery made it. I made it for a friend as a gift and they loved it. It was moist and the frosting is so light. i will definately make it again.
