I have Boston Butt trimmed and ground whenever it Boston butts go on sale. At my stores this is a free service. You may be shocked at just how little liquids other than fat are in ground pork as well as much less fat. You get a lot more meat for your money even with the bone. If spiced few can tell the difference. If I use regular gr. beef in a recipe that calls for lean gr beef, I follow the same procedure I always do with ground beef brown, drain and rinse in hot water.
I am not a big fan of Lasagna but my husband is. He hates cottage cheese though. I wanted to make his favorite food but in a healthy way. We both really enjoyed this!!! I even had two pieces!! I can't wait to try more healthy living food!!
It's will be my main lasagna recipe. I will add a small can of tomato sauce to the meat sauce for a moister finished dish. Yummy!!!!!
Very good! Even my toddlers ate it and they are picky.
So good!! Husband thought it was delivered by restaurant...
Best lasagna I've ever made, and I've received many compliments when I do make it. Great flavor. The only change I make is instead of 1 large tomato, I add 1 can petite diced tomatoes (undrained).
My family loves this recipe. I make it several times a month and the kids never get tired of it.
I modify this a little by making it with more meat and using canned diced tomatoes spiced with garlic and oregano.
Amazing! I added some greek yogurt to the cottage cheese mix and cooked it in my crockpot on low, my family at the entire crockpot of lasagna! I thought it would be an issue because of the cottage cheese but they were too happy too see lasagna on a weeknight to even care!
Some of the best lasagna I've ever had. I finely pureed some carrots, onion and extra tomato and added to the beef mixture to stretch it a little futher. No one even noticed there were extra veggies! My 9 year old son was licking his plate!
