Enjoyed this recipe very much. I substituted diced tomatoes for the crushed ones when I was unable to find the crushed in the correct size. I used only green bell pepper, added a small can tomato sauce and a little water to make sure I had ample sauce for the rice. Plan to make again.

I did not brown the chicken before putting it in the slow cooker, and I found that it tasted great anyway! I used boneless chicken thighs, and I also substituted diced tomatoes for the crushed tomatoes. My husband loved it and I will be making this dish again!

I agree with Patricia91248's rating on 12/12/06 with eliminating the browning of the chicken in italian dressing. We could not taste it in the final dish and the chicken is thoroughly cooked after 6-8 hours slow cooking. I substituted using small cut up pieces of boneless chicken breast. I also did not have any red peppers, so I used only the green peppers I had . This is a very filling dish and after feeding totally 4 adults I still froze 3 pints (not including rice). We cooked both rice and pasta and found rice to be the very best with it. I will be making this again for my family, they all liked it very much and it definitely is a budget stretcher.

This was super easy and tasty. I didn't have the italian dressing they called for so I used a Vidalia Onion & Summer Tomato dressing from my local farm stand. I also didn't have any thyme so I used basil. I also added in a tablespoon of bbq sauce w/honey. My husband & kids loved it. Would make this again. Very tasty!

Super easy and a great meal. I added some extra parsley and thyme on top for some extra flavor. I have made it twice and will make it again.
