Wonderful, quick, elegant and easy, these are one of my family's favorites, on occasion I have substituted pecans with walnuts and they are equally delicious!

I saw another recipe that used vegetable shortening. I wonder if it taste the same or less tasty? I think butter always has a better flavor though and if butter already has salt in it, I don't use the same amount of salt but less than what it calls for. It depends on every individual.

I make these every year. I had to tweek the recipe. It was too dry so I added 1/4 cup extra of butter, and I only had to bake them at 13 minutes. Other than that, they are always wonderful to add to my gift baskets at Christmas.

Wonderful recipe, mine weren't exactly ball-shaped after baking (flattened out a bit for some reason) but taste was amazing. Made them to give for a gift to a friend but my hubby now wants some just for him.

My Grandmother used to make these and called them SNOWBALLS. I lost the recipe and now I can relive those days of cooking in the kitchen with her. Thanks!
