I make this often but I chop up boneless pork chops into bite size pieces and use crushed pineapple instead of chunks. I also add a couple dashes of soy sauce. My family LOVES it!
I made this recipe for dinner tonight. I used more chops that called for and increased the chicken broth because it didn't look like enough liquid. This was just an okay meal, a bit bland in my opinion. Easy, one-pan dinner, but I probably wouldn't make this again.
The dish was very bland. It needs salt and spices: pepper and maybe Chinese 5 spice. Also I used regular rice and added more broth.
This recipe reminded me of sweet and sour pork in a skillet. The only thing I changed is that I seasoned the pork chops with black pepper and sea salt and some of the garlic powder before browning them. The recipe seemed bland otherwise. And this is the first time I've cooked with instant rice and it concerned me, but it's all good.
Very good I would make it again!
Used boneless chops, fresh garlic, diced onion, replaced chicken broth with teriyaki and soy& water mixture, and a lil crushed red pepper...OMG fab spin on at home Chinese sweet and sour and soooo simple to make. Definitely in my rotation now!
i made this for dinner last night and it was awesome! i used boneless chops instead, and cut them into bite size pieces. will use less pineapple than it calls for next time, as it seemed it was overpowering with chunks of pineapples. but all around, it was an amazing dish and the husband loved it too!
Made this recipe and it was great. Next time I'm going to use pork loin cut into cubes.
Easy and yummy! Will probably make again!
I just made this recipe and I wasn't sure how it would turn out. I'm not a fan of pork, but I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try making something new.I made a few changes I used boneless pork chops instead of bone in and I didn't realize it until I started cooking, but I didn't have enough minute rice, so I cooked brown rice and added it in with the little bit of minute rice that I had. All in all it turned out pretty good. My husband seemed to enjoy it too. Next time I think I'll try using boneless skinless chicken breast, and add some sweet onion to give it a bit more flavor.
