This is really good! Very authentic...reminded me of the shrimp and grits I had when I visited Charleston, SC.
i have never eaten grits, but the picture made it oh so tempting. it was pretty good. i would definetly make it again, personally i think it tasted better the next day. i think i added too much water to the grits, so it wasn't creamy as it looks in the picture (more on the soupy side) we don't eat bacon, so i used the veggie bacon. also, i foolishly added salt to the shrimp when i was cleaning it, something i do out of habit, so the dish was a little bit on the salty side, but otherwise its pretty decent. i don't consider this to be a main meal item, but a great side dish.
Ever since my visit to Charleston SC I have been looking for this recipe. It is easy and quick to make and absolutely deliciois. I have made it several times and plan to make it for company.
Awesome recipe. Very easy and quick to make. My family really enjoyed this meal. I am so happy because my finally tried grits and loved them.
As a southern mom I couldn't believe I actually got my children to eat GRITS !! They were thrilled, even my city slicker husband loved this meal. We will be putting this into our do again file. The kids even asked for seconds !!

A local restaurant in town serves a version of this receipe, and I must say that this recipe was MUCH better! The only change I made to this recipe was I added extra garlic ! YUMMY !! To aid in cooking as an "after church lunch" meal I fried my bacon the night before and just saved the grease! My kids even asked for seconds!! You can't go wrong if you have a seafood lover in your home !
Very tasty! Just like you would find in the South.
