It turned out great! Just like the picture! My husband thought it could have used more strawberries, but the rest of us liked it just the way it was!

Made this last night for Sunday dessert. Everyone loved it. I think I will take others readers advice in the future and add the sugar earlier. My 14 month old daughter even loved it. Right off the serving plate. Dove right in. LOL

i found that by dividing the dough in half and baking it in two round pans was much easier than trying to cut it in half. I cut the strawberries the night before and then mixed the juice in with the pudding mix. It was delicious!
My husband said it was delicious, I also thought it was yummy. I went into my dad's house and took him a piece he enjoyed it also. Iwill be making it again.
Wonderful, Easy & Delicious ! I made this for our Wed night church supper. I was told not to come back unless I bring this again!! I did use a 12oz tub of Cool Whip with the pudding mix and used it on both layers. Like another reader, I too worked the strawberries up 2 1/2 hrs ahead of time. The "juice" make the desert finger licking good.
I made this recipe for my book club and these ladies know how to cook. They ranted and raved over how delicious and light this Strawberry Shortcake was. I had everything for the recipe in my frig or cupboard, all I had to do was buy another quart of strawberries. I made the cake portion the night before and about an hour before the party made the rest and put in the frig to chill. It was cool and refreshing and held up sitting out all night!
