I would never thought of putting hotdogs in mac and cheese. I tried it and it was yummy!!! I took the advice and added some hot sauce and what a kick it gave the dish!!! I enjoyed this and will definitely make it again.

I have been doing this recipe for years. My son loves it. My other son can't have milk products but i use special mac and cheese and add his hotdogs so he eats like everyone else. I introduced this recipe to some of my co workers adn they fell in love with it. the one thing i add to mine (not the kids tho) is hot sauce a dash or two depending on your preference. this is a great week night "fun" meal that the kids can help make and usually have it on the schedule at least 2 times a month (the kids would like it alot more tho )

My son loves this dish. We make it several times a month. In higher altitude, you might find you need to add a little more milk. The greatest thing is my son is able to cook with me and enjoys telling everyone he made dinner.

I used smokie links instead of the hot dogs. Much tastier!

First ate this at a boarding house during World War II, when meat was rationed. The cook sauteed franks and onions before adding a spritz of barbecue sauce and the macaroni. Hard working defense workers could eat the noon meal there for FIFTY CENTS!! What a bargain!!

Great recipe. I have tweaked it a little by melting Velvetta over the top after everything is mixed in. It make a very rich and cheesy treat indeed!
