I made this recipe for a high school graduation party and everyone loved it.
Really Good
I used Splenda instead of sugar in the crust and with the cream cheese (which I used 1/3 less fat cream cheese), no added sugar crushed pineapple and sugar free cool whip as I am a diabetic and this helped cut back on the sugar.
Once in a while I like to make tasty treats for the office to lift everyone's spirit. This recipe certainly did the trick. I thought I would have a bit left over for my family when I came home that day because it makes quite a bit but people from other floors in the building heard about it and the rest is history. It's the perfect combination of flavors to statisfy a large crowd. Thanks
I haven't made the cake yet, but I am making it for my birthday , and bringing it to work for the dessert. The people just enjoy all of the goodies that I bring to work and of course they are from the magazine that I get from you I just enjoy this book so much this last one was sooo wonderful alot of recipes I just can't wait to make thank you for all of the wonderful ideas too.
I've made this several times for friends and family. I treat it like a "dessert bar". With side dishes of different nuts, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and extra bananas; everyone can have it how they like! I have found that if I reverse the banana/pineapple combination from the recipe (banana first then pineapple), the juice from the pineapple helps preserve the bananas from getting brown.
Such a cool, refreshing desert! Instead of bananas and pecans for topping, we used a spoonful of strawberry topping and a light drizzle of chocolate syrup. Endless possibilities for toppings!
What can I say.....this recipe was WONDERFUL!! I made it for my family & everyone loved it. I used the lighter version, sugar free fat free pudding, lite cool whip & the 1/3 less fat cream cheese. You would never know the difference. I was very impressed.
I made this to take to a BBQ and everybody loved it. It was easy and I will make it again.
Went over very well. I would make a couple suggestions. Don't top with the additional bananas. This is supposed to be a banana split cake so top with cherries & nuts instead. Also suggested maybe having toppings for people also, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, etc.. Would add to the banana split theme.
