What You Need

1-1/2

cups penne pasta, uncooked

lb. Italian sausage

cups halved zucchini slices

red pepper, chopped

can (8 oz.) pizza sauce

1/2

lb. (8 oz.) VELVEETA®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

1/2

cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

COOK pasta as directed on package, omitting salt. Meanwhile, brown sausage in large deep skillet on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to break up sausage. Drain; return sausage to skillet. Stir in zucchini, peppers and pizza sauce; cook 5 to 6 min. or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.

DRAIN pasta. Add to sausage mixture with VELVEETA; mix lightly. Spoon into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; top with Parmesan.

BAKE 15 to 20 min. or until heated through.

VELVEETA Sausage and Rice Casserole

Omit pasta. Prepare as directed, adding 1-1/2 cups uncooked instant white rice and 1-1/2 cups water to the meat mixture along with the VELVEETA. Increase the baking time to 35 to 40 min. or until rice is tender and casserole is heated through. Makes 8 servings.

I used a mix of low fat mozzerrella and low fat mild cheddar cheese instead of the velveeta and substituted the sausage with turkey italian sausage. it was awesome! definitely would make again.

Very easy to make and delicious! The whole family loved it - a great way to get your kids to eat zucchini.

This was fantasic! I tweeked the recpie by using spicy sausage and adding mushrooms and asiago cheese on top. Very good flavor!

Yummmm-meee. My family of 5 DEVOURED it! My kids like spicy food, so this was fine for them with the hot Italian sausage, but your family doesn't like spicy -- go for the sweet sausage.

I am the mother of three young children so I need easy recipes. This dish was quick and simple to make. Very little prep time and the taste was incredible. I will definitely make this one again!
