What You Need

1-1/2

cups penne pasta, uncooked

lb. Italian sausage

cups halved zucchini slices

red pepper, chopped

can (8 oz.) pizza sauce

1/2

lb. (8 oz.) VELVEETA®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

1/2

cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

COOK pasta as directed on package, omitting salt. Meanwhile, brown sausage in large deep skillet on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally to break up sausage. Drain; return sausage to skillet. Stir in zucchini, peppers and pizza sauce; cook 5 to 6 min. or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.

DRAIN pasta. Add to sausage mixture with VELVEETA; mix lightly. Spoon into 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; top with Parmesan.

BAKE 15 to 20 min. or until heated through.

Prepare as directed, substituting 1 lb. lean ground beef for the sausage and 1 cup each shredded carrots and zucchini for the 3 cups sliced zucchini. Also, try using a fun pasta shape, such as wagon wheels.

VELVEETA Sausage and Rice Casserole

Omit pasta. Prepare as directed, adding 1-1/2 cups uncooked instant white rice and 1-1/2 cups water to the meat mixture along with the VELVEETA. Increase the baking time to 35 to 40 min. or until rice is tender and casserole is heated through. Makes 8 servings.

This was really easy to make. Next time I will leave out the Velveeta cheese and use pepper jack or cheddar.

Made this recipe tonight and used Cheez Whiz instead of Velveeta. Tasted great and the kids enjoyed it too! Will make again!

Another great easy recipe from Kraft! I only use half the velveeta and it is plenty.

My family really liked it. I liked it too but found it really heavy, I think that much Velveeta makes it too rich for my tastes.

This was very good which suprised me I'm not a fan of velvetta. The kids loved it. I'll make it again soon.

Too much Velveeta cheese, will try a different cheese next time. Not as big of a hit with the kids as I had hoped...

Pretty good. I am not a big fan of italian sausage so I will try it again with some other protein. My husband wasn't excited to try it when he found out there was Velveeta, but he LOVED it!
