Best go to dish for fall potlucks. I've made it dozens of times and I get rave reviews. I've also just used the batter to make other types of cakes, and even substituted apples for the pears. Great every time, and super easy!

I made substitutions and still, the cake came out delicious. I used a white cake mix instead of a yellow cake mix, fresh pears instead of canned, and raisins instead of walnuts as these were what I have on hand. I had difficulty mixing the batter using a hand mixer. The batter went up the beaters and got the mixer base dirty. If you were to substitute raisins for walnuts, add it after 30 minutes of baking or after baking so it won't get burnt.

This is a very easy to make recipe. I've made it numerous times, and it always is a big hit.

This cake is delicious and easy to make. I served it with a glob of whippwd cream on top. It was a big hit at a recent gathering in my home. Several women copied the recipe that day. Thank you..

Great! Didn't change a thing and it tasted great. Our company loved it, too. Tastes yummy for breakfast with coffee.

I used pineapple cake mix and less gelatin. It's very sweet.Overall it is a good cake.

I took this to a New Year's Eve party and got rave reviews! Everyone thought it had pineapple in it, though. It must have been the pear/lemon combo. It was still excellent!

I used a spice cake mix for the batter and it was great with that variation. I will make it again!
