What You Need

oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/2

cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream

egg

pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix

Tbsp. butter, melted, divided

can (15 oz.) pear halves, drained, sliced into 1/2-inch slices

pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Lemon Flavor Gelatin

tsp. ground cinnamon

1/2

cup chopped PLANTERS Walnuts

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

BEAT first 4 ingredients in large bowl with mixer on low speed just until cake mix is moistened, stopping frequently to scrape side of bowl. Add 1/4 cup butter; beat on medium speed 2 min. (Batter will be thick.)

SPREAD batter onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Arrange pear slices over batter, pressing lightly into batter to secure. Sprinkle with dry gelatin mix and cinnamon. Drizzle with remaining butter; sprinkle with nuts.

BAKE 40 to 45 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

I used Fat Free Cream Cheese and had forgotten to get the sour cream so I substituted Fat Free Vanilla yogurt. I also used the cinnamon swirl cake mix. It was very moist and very sweet. I mixed the cinnamon topping with the lemon jello. If I make it again, I will eliminate the extra butter and just use 1/2 of the cinnomon topping. Made it for a funeral and got lot's of compliments.

Baked this today. Recipe called for 40 minutes, baked only 35 and it was still dry - not moist at all. It also needs more pears, I feel. I would add more next time. They yellow cake mix also did not give much flavor, I would probably use lemon cake mix or add lemon extract next time. All in all, too dry.

This was so easy to make!!! I made it for a cookout and had 4 people ask me for the recipe!!! I wasn't sure about the lemon jello on top but it was delicious!!! This is one recipe I will make again!!!

Bravo! Excellent & easy recipe. I used the yellow cake mix as suggested, served it warm with vanilla ice cream, and fresh grated cinnimon on top. Yummmmmeeee! It was a hit, will def. make again.

This cake was an instant hit with my oh-so finicky eater husband. He liked it so well that he has asked me to make one for the office birthday brunch in a few weeks. I erred by using a yellow cake mix with "pudding in the mix" but it turned out fabulous. It is excellent served warm with a little cream poured over it, as well. Mmmmmmmm!

Wonderful cake! It was very easy to make. The batter is VERY thick. I thought I'd made a mistake but it turns out yummy! Great texture. The pears are nice surprises! The jello on top results in a sweet, fluffy crust. A nice, rich cinnamony, nutty confection that would be perfect paired with whipped cream or a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream. I am definitely making this again!
