Awful... what is BBQ sauce doing in Salisbury Steak? The texture was mealy and too heavy for us. Maybe I did it wrong, but I don't think I want to try again. I stick with my fave Kraft recipes from now on....

This is one of our favorite 'comfort food nite' recipes. Some reviewers have commented on lack of flavor and/or dry/crumbly meat..I have made the following changes: used just 1 C water & added 1/2 C bbq sauce, 2Tbl A-1 Steak Sauce & 1/2 tsp garlic powder to meat mixture; (for sauce- 1 1/2 C bbq sauce, 2 tsp Worster. sauce, 1/2 C water; simmer 5 min, add sauted mushrooms....put browned patties (8),in 9x13 pan, cover w/sauce & mush; put foil on..cook 20 min; uncover & cook 20-30 min more..have also used 1/2 turkey & 1/2 gr. round

This was pretty good. Although my husband doesn't like mushrooms. So, I skipped them and used packaged mushroom gravy. (He didn't notice! :) This is an easy and quick recipe. The hamburger is a good meatloaf recipe.

We tried it with barbeque sauce but preferred it the time I made it with brown gravy mix.

I was really surprised at how boring and bland this was given all of the high ratings. The only thing I changed was that I used gravy instead of bbq sauce but both my husband and I were very unimpressed. Neither of us are picky at all and we'll eat almost anything but this just had no flavor, it was like eating a hamburger with gravy.
