i made this bread pudding today to go with my down home meal i was making and a first i was nervous it would not set being that it was thin the cheam cheese mitxure but when i took it out of the oven and it cooled ...can you say YUMMY!!! lol i used fat free cream cheese and still very tasty, i will make this again and do a apple cinnamin bready pudding with pecans on top. it also took no time to make! i would send this to all my firends and foodies to try!
I'll definitely make this again. It was sweet enough to satisfy that chocolate dessert-y thing that I have a hard time dealing with, but too sweet to want to overdo it. Perfect. Definitely good. I used fat free cream cheese, by the way, w/ fat free whipped cream on top. Also, chocolate chips.
I've made this recipe at least 6 times and it always gets rave reviews! I've even added raisins and "craisins" (dried cranberries) for a little change. Easy to make and I seem to always have all the ingredients in my pantry. (When they ask you to make it at thier next get-together, you know you have a winner.)
I made this recipe using 6 slices of bread instead of 8 as some of the reviews suggested. It did turn out a bit soupy. Next time I will try using the 8 slices. I also added a whole banana in this mix. Overall, I thought it was okay. When I make it again, I will still add the banana but maybe top it with almond slivers as well.
I'm going to make this recipe again in a few hours. This was very easy to make. I didn't use the chocolate chips and only used 6 slices of bread. At the end, I sprinkled cinnamon on top-- this was very good.
Everyone loved this - I will only use 6 slices of bread next time instead of 8.
Just WONDERFUL! I made it with light wheat bread, fat free milk, and it was fabulous! The first time I made it with 6 pcs. of bread, and it stayed too soupy. So the next night I made it again, and used 8 pcs of bread and cut the milk down to 1 1/2 cups instead of 1 3/4 cup, and it was perfect! I also just chopped up some left over semi-sweet chocolate chips I had on hand instead of the bakers squares.
Interesting combination of flavors. Reminds me of the comfort food Mom used to make. Used whole wheat bread for a healthier option and it was yummy!
Yummy! My kids really liked it too! Very easy to make.
This was such an easy dessert to make. My husband and I loved this recipe. It is not too rich in a chocolate sense which makes it even better. I will make it again.
