What You Need

pkg. (2-layer size) chocolate cake mix

pkg. (3.9 oz.) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/4

cup butter, softened

tsp. vanilla

pkg. (16 oz.) powdered sugar, sifted

ring-shaped chewy fruit snacks

miniature candy-coated chocolate pieces

tube (19.28 g) red decorating gel

Make It

PREPARE cake batter as directed on package. Add dry pudding mix; mix well. Spoon into 24 paper-lined muffin cups. Bake as directed on package for cupcakes; cool completely.

BEAT cream cheese, butter and vanilla in medium bowl with mixer until well blended. Gradually beat in sugar. Spread onto cupcakes.

DECORATE with remaining ingredients to resemble photo.

I made these for a recent Halloween party and they were such a hit! I used multi-color gummy circles and then just used the red gel in the middle of the circle (instead of additional candy). I displayed the cupcakes on a cupcake stand and received so many compliments!

Really good and easy to make! I used devil's food cake mix instead of regular chocolate and it was also delicious.

Not only was it super easy to decorate them, but the kids were able to do everything but the lines themselves. I did think later that I could have used red string licorice instead of gel, so I might try that next time. But the best part was that I found that adding jello pudding mix to the cake made it taste AMAZING... I will do this with every chocolate cake/cupcake recipe in the future.

These were a hit at last years halloween party. They were a breeze to decorate and I was able to find all the ingredients easily. The pudding mix made the cupcakes super moist. Yummy fun!
