I've been looking for a good potatoe soup recipe and when I came across this one and gave it a try, I LOVED it!!! So easy and so tasty!!! I don't think I'll be able to get enough of this! :)
Delicious. It's healthier if you bake the bacon on a draining rack in the oven or on a George Foreman grill...HOWEVER, not as flavorful since you leave behind all that bacon grease.
Wonderful recipe, especially in the winter!
This is the worst soup that I have ever made. It had no flavor and did not look appetizing at all. I would not recommend making this. The results:a clumpy milky soup. No matter what I did to make it better, it only got worse.
This is my go to recipe for a simple, fast and easy potato soup. Always delicious and I have all of the ingredients on hand. I have made this many times over the years and it's always a hit.
My Husband LOVED the soup. I love really thick soups and this one was too thin for me.
I am a great potato lover and potato soup is one of my favorites! I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
I agree this recipe can be very bland if you don't used some seasonings. I agree with the other person who commented and use salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Putting in the microwave will not just do as far as getting the potatoes tender. You might have to do a combination of both microwave and stove (that's what I did). Overall my kids loved it and I would make it again. Oh and you do have to used double the ingredients. I used about 15 potatoes so you will need extra of everything.
Using the ingredients just as directed, I ended up with a bowl full of hot milk & some smashed potatoes. I even cooked the it 2 1/2 minutes longer thinking it might become thicker. It did not seem at all like soup. I ended up using the bacon and cheese for something else for dinner.
Very easy to make. Not much flavor so I will add some spices next time.
