I liked this recipe except try this...Instead of the chicken broth use a can of potato soup. This makes it thicker. I also mashed half of the potatoes and leave the other half chunky.

I have made this a number of time for my side job....cooking and selling food at softball games. The guys and my family absolutely love it and I get repeated requests for it. I usually use Velveeta cheese in addition to the shredded cheese, add extra bacon and also added cornstarch to thicken it up more along the lines of a chowder.

This a very good soup. I prefer my soup a little thicker, so I added some instant potatoes to thicken it up. I also cooked it on the stove rather than in the microwave.

This wasn't good at all! I ended up dumping it out and ordering a pizza that night!

I made this recipe last night after reading everyone's reviews. It definitely needs a lot of "extras." I cooked it on the stove and mixed red potatoes and baking potatoes (had them both on-hand), added salt/pepper/garlic powder, extra cheese & bacon, had leftover ham so I cut up pieces and threw them in, corn/carrots/celery/onions, etc. Turned out pretty good but I agree with everyone else (a little runny for my taste); I would advise cutting down the chicken broth to maybe half the can and see how it turns out...But other than that, it was pretty good!! Served it with half grilled ham/cheese sandwich. Yummy!

I made this the old fashioned way and boiled my potatoes and it seemed to bring out the flavor more...Kids love it!!!
