Quick Taco Salad is a delectable mash-up of fresh lettuce and tomatoes, cheese and lean ground beef, without the hassle of stuffing a shell.

What You Need

lb. lean ground beef

onion, chopped

pkg. (1-1/4 oz.) TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Taco Seasoning Mix

1/4

cup water

cups torn romaine lettuce (about 1 large head)

tomatoes, chopped

cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese

cups tortilla chips, coarsely crushed

1/4

cup KRAFT Classic Ranch Dressing

It's for dipping and dunking and mixing-upping. And yes, for salad too.

Make It

BROWN meat with onions in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat; drain.

ADD seasoning mix and water; mix well. Bring to boil. Simmer on medium-low heat 3 min.

DIVIDE lettuce among 4 plates. Top evenly with meat mixture, tomatoes, cheese and crushed chips. Drizzle with dressing.

Really yummy taco salad - just what you expect, and it's delicious and easy to make. I wasn't sure about the ranch dressing, but it tasted great! We loved it.

It's easy to alter suiting each taste, i.e. adding black olives, sprinkle with a little fresh Cilantro, Taco Bowl (the kind you bake and eat) and even a few Jalapeno's.

i did'nt like the ranch dressing with it . It was too much. I prefer good old sour cream.

I have made this several times. It's very easy and very tasty. I use salsa and sour cream instead of the Ranch dressing.

I was also a little unsure about the dressing but it seemed to be the prefect touch. This was very simple but still great!

I will need to double he recipe next time. Was a lil scared by the dressing but it was great! I bought soft taco shells for my 5yo and every one was happy!

This was such a hit in my house! The kids loved it and, honestly the next time I make it, I'll have to double the recipe; we didn't have enough this first time!!
