Quick Taco Salad is a delectable mash-up of fresh lettuce and tomatoes, cheese and lean ground beef, without the hassle of stuffing a shell.

What You Need

lb. lean ground beef

onion, chopped

pkg. (1-1/4 oz.) TACO BELL® Taco Seasoning Mix

1/4

cup water

cups torn romaine lettuce (about 1 large head)

tomatoes, chopped

cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese

cups tortilla chips, coarsely crushed

1/4

cup KRAFT Classic Ranch Dressing

It's for dipping and dunking and mixing-upping. And yes, for salad too.

Make It

BROWN meat with onions in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat; drain.

ADD seasoning mix and water; mix well. Bring to boil. Simmer on medium-low heat 3 min.

DIVIDE lettuce among 4 plates. Top evenly with meat mixture, tomatoes, cheese and crushed chips. Drizzle with dressing.

Good, but instead of using just plain ranch dressing, I mixed hot picante sauce and ranch together, with a sprinkle of the taco seasoning. This gave it a spicier, more 'authentic' taste. I also added rotel spicy tomatoes. Yum!

I make a few substitutions like BBQ corn chips, and use the no name taco seasoning and regular ground beef and it’s just fine. My family really enjoys this recipe, it’s so tasty and so easy to make.
