Free-Form Harvest Apple Tart

Free-Form Harvest Apple Tart recipe
It must be the crisp air of the orchard that makes us want to mold a rustic, fresh fruit tart by hand. This one sports lemony cream cheese along with crisp apples.

I used sugar free jello which worked very well and my diabetic husband loves this as a dessert with whipped topping and for breakfast. I have made it twice since Saturday and am making it again today for my mother's bridge club. It is outstanding.

Absolutely wonderful! I made it as a dessert for n hors d'oeuvres party. It was easy to prepare. I was a bit hesitant about the lemon Jell-o, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh flavor it added.

It was really easy to make (and I'm no expert) and while it baked my house smelled wonderful. This one will go in my recipe book.

I will indeed make this again. It was absolutely delicious. I didn't have any lemon jello so I subsituted plain gelatin and fresh lemon juice plus about 1/2 cup sugar (divided). Also, I added 1 tbsp cold water when mixing the dough. I think next time I will peel the apples. mmmm yum.

pastry was dry and hard to form and roll out. Crumbled when turning up edges. Definitely will discard the recipe
