Superb! I've always been intimidated by trying oriental-type recipes but this was simple and delicious! I didn't have broccoli so I used snow peas and brown rice instead of white.
This recipe was a very tasty dish, I just didn't like the broccoli turning brown. Other than that it gets a standing ovation!
I LOVE this recipe! Instead of hoisin sauce and gingerroot, I use soy sauce and ground ginger. I also add fresh sliced mushrooms and serve over brown rice. I make this at least twice per month- very tasty and easy!!
I've made it twice now, and even my picky 4-year old loves it. I do add soy sauce and use minced ginger. It is VERY easy to whip up quickly as long as you have the ingredients on hand. :)
I followed some suggestions, and doubled the sauce, but it was too much for us. Next time I'd stick to the recipe. I used much less ginger. Overall, not bad. will make again some day.
It was very good and easy to make. I did add soy sauce to give it more of the traditional chinese taste. I used brown rice instead of white and loved it and I also doubled my meat. Also, I used ground ginger and only about 1/2 of what was called for. You have to be a ginger fan to use the whole amount. Overall, I recommend for an easy / quick meal :)
We liked the flavor but I doubled the sauce the second time I made it so there was enough to flavor the rice.
This was an extremely easy recipe, I did pre-season my meat and added garlic and white onion to the meat when it was cooking. My husband thought it was a little sweet, however my son loved it (and that was who it was made for!) This is definitely a make again!
This recipe was great! Guests loved it! I added chicken broth to the rice instead of water. Also, added white thin slices of onions to make it more colorful and tateful. Ginger root was too strong used only 1/2tbsp in recipe. :)
my family absolutely loved this meal even my 3 year old cleaned his plate! This will become a regular meal in our house!
