Fantastic! I found it hard to keep the nice round shape, so I formed the balls, put them in the freezer for about 15 min then dipped them in the melted chocolate. Beautiful!

This is a great recipe that everyone loves, but one thing I do different is I do not dip them in melted chocolate, I just roll in powdered sugar..still yummy, but I will try dipping them in chocolate too next time.

I would definitely recommend this recipe! I made these truffles for the first time this week. I read a few reviews before I made them. I do agree that these are very rich. I made them for my coworkers and they are a perfect gift to give! I made two batches. The first batch I made was with Fat Free Oreo Cookies and semi-sweet Bakers chocolate. The second batch I made was with Golden Oreo Cookies and Bakers white chocolate. I liked the semi-sweet truffles, but the white chocolate Golden Oreo cookie truffles were to die for! Next time I make these I will make more of the white chocolate Golden Oreo Cookies. The recipe says that it makes 45-47 truffles. I only got 25 out of one batch. I made them the same size as the ones in the picture. I also agree about refrigerating the mixture before you dip it into the melted chocolate. I refrigerated mine over night and dipping them was very easy to me. I also had extra shish kabob sticks, so I used a couple of those to stick in the balls and dip in

Melted chocolate was hard to dip the tuffles in and get an even coating. I could just eat the insides of the truffles!

There were so many rave reviews, I thought I should try the oreo truffles. I found them to be oily. Maybe it was because I added some chambord to enhance flavor. It was not appetizing to see an oily substrate oozing from the truffle. It also is about as much work to make regular chocolate truffles, so I will make those instead in the future. As for dipping the truffles in chocolate, use a fork and a chop stick. place cold, refrigerated hardened truffle in bowl with melted chocolate. Turn truffle over using fork, place truffle on fork tines to "drain off" excess chocolate by gently shaking fork back and forth. Use side of chopstick to remove excess choclate from underside of fork. Move fork with truffe to wax paper. Use chopstick to slide truffle from fork and to repair any missing chocolate or "holes". No messy hands...

My Aunt brought this dish to one of our family gatherings, and it was the best dessert I have ever had. I made it afterwards, and my DH and kids loved it. I can't say enough... it tastes like something from a fine dining restaurant fit for a foodee, but it is really simple and easy. Yum!
