I HAVE MADE THIS RECIPE FOR YEARS! WE LOVE IT! BECAUSE I LIKE TO EXPERIMENT, I HAVE ALSO MADE IT BY USING LIGHT SOUR CREAM INSTEAD OF MILK. ALSO I HAVE USED FROZEN CHOPPED SPINACH, SOMETIMES I'VE USED ASPARAGUS, FOR A VEGETABLE. MARTHA, NY

I've been making this for years with fresh broccoli, in *smaller* bite size flowerettes - it cooks just enough and adds a nice crunch. I've never added the milk or the cheese, although I think the cheese would be great.

We LOVE this! I pre cook my chicken AND the brocolli because I have a 16 month old who doesn't have a lot of teeth, I also use Healthy Request soup and 1/2 a small can of Cheez Wiz instead of the shredded cheese. Much less fat and calories, and not as salty.

Instead of using the chicken that has to be cooked, I used one large can of pulled chicken. I also added some frozen corn. My kids loved it, and by using the canned chicken, it was ready in 15 minutes instead of 40!

The recipe on the back of the Stove Top Chicken Stuffing box for Easy Bake Chicken is essentially the same but with much better.instructions. If the chicken is thawed (not frozen) and placed on the bottom of the casserole dish on top of some dry stuffing, it will definitely cook at 400 degrees in about 30 minutes. Mixing the chicken with the other ingredients slows down the cooking process.

I had the same problem as jenhillzimmer. The chicken did not cook completely. Some of the pieces were raw and I had to cook it much longer than the initial 30 minutes.

This needs some zipping up. Adding 1/4 tsp curry powder and a tsp or two of lemon juice to the liquids would help it immensely. Easy to assemble doesn't mean it should be bland. I liked the suggested apple dessert. We have liked a faux Waldorf salad made with apples, celery, walnuts, all in bigger chunks with a few raisins with lemon yougert to bind for a lighter taste after similar casseroles. The crunch is good with it.
