I made this recipe for Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved how beautiful it looked and how delicious it taste. The cake turned out better than I expected and looked like I purchased from a bakery. I will be making this again, for sure!!!

I make this every year for my husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary. He says it's the best cake I've ever made, and I bake all the time!

Beautiful and delicious. I have made this several times for gatherings and received raves for both the looks and the taste. It is fairly easy to make and looks like you spent hours on it. In fact, one gathering I took it to asked which bakery it came from. It is absolutely delicious. The cherries are great and the gelatin makes the cake very moist and yummy. The icing is very light and keeps the cake from being too rich. The chocolate drizzle just adds a little "bite" to it. I highly recommend!

Very good; add the small touches of cherries and the chocolate - the extra flavor is well worth the extra time. You can make the cake a day before and it makes the cake taste better. I doubled it and made it in 2 large wedding cake style round pans and it served 30 people easy and if really did taste great. I made the frosting that came with this recipe and put in the middle layer and I used my own recipe of instant vanilla pudding, cool whip powdered sugar, etc. to make a frosting for the top of the cake. I decorated it all with frosting and chocolate and cherries and then I froze it for about 2 hours before I transported it in the heat. Everyone loved it at the anniversary party.

This cake is amazing! Not so difficult to make it just takes some time thats all. One very important tip is to not eat it on the same day. If you are making it for an occasion make sure you finish baking and preparing it the day before because the flavors don't fully combine together unless you leave it over night. It was just perfect the next day, never buying a black forest cake from any bakery again!

I made this cake twice and came out delicious both times. It's a little time consuming, but so worth the effort. It's the moistest cake I have ever eaten. If you're considering it, DO IT! You will not be disappointed.

This has become a favorite at our house. I have also used blueberries and raspberries in between the layers and on top. The raspberries are especially good with raspberry jello too. It seems even better on day 2 or after. Every drop of this cake gets eaten!

I made this before my husband and I got married. He loved it so much that we decided this should be our wedding cake. My neice made it and it was a big hit. Everyone loved it. I have made it several times since. Delicious!

Made this for my husband LOVED it. It was quite simple and the frosting was YUMMY!! It turned out to be very pretty! I will absoutely make this again.
