I made this for Christmas and it was beautiful and delicious! We had to leave it when we left and my parents said they had no problem finishing it, and it only got better with time! I can't wait to make again and try variations, but it was great as is, too!

My cake came out a little soggy. Maybe if I left it in the fridge for longer than 3 hours it would have been better. I also could have used more frosting and I was thinking of trying cherry pie filling instead of the crushed cherries in the center. I'll definitely make this one again. Everyone loved it!

I followed the recipe exactly and the cake was slimy, which I suspect was due to the Jello. After about 12 hours of refrigeration with the whipped topping, it was better, but the bottoms of the cakes were still soggy. Next time I will not use all of the Jello mixture and will throw in a few chopped cherries to the cake batter to compensate. Overall it had a pretty good flavor.

I love this cake recipe so much I make it as a birthcake for myself an friends who love it.I also use the frosting recipe on other cake variations. For example; yThe frosting over a yellow butter flavored cake with strawberry filling and garnish with chocolate covered strawberries. This is a hit no matter what!!!

I made this cake over the weekend and took it to my neighbor's house for dessert. By the next day it was gone. People were fighting for the last piece! It was so very good!

I did not have 2 cake pans, so I made this as a bundt. It was excellent! So moist and the frosting is creamy and delicious. Just enough cherry flavor without overpowering the chocolate. The next time I make this I am going to try it with raspberries.
