What You Need

lb. lean ground beef

jar (24 oz.) spaghetti sauce

1-2/3

cups water

1/4

cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing

green peppers, chopped

cloves garlic, minced

oven-ready lasagna noodle, broken into quarters

cup KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese

It's for dipping and dunking and mixing-upping. And yes, for salad too.

Make It

BROWN meat in large saucepan; drain.

ADD next 5 ingredients; mix well. Bring to boil. Stir in noodles; cover.

COOK on medium-low heat 10 to 15 min. or until noodles are tender, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Sprinkle with cheese; cover. Let stand 5 min. or until cheese is melted.

Special Extra

Stir 1/2 cup POLLY-O Original Ricotta Cheese into noodle mixture before sprinkling with shredded cheese.

Shortcut

Traditional lasagna can take up to 2 hours to prepare. Our version only takes 35 minutes. You save almost 1-1/2 hours!

Variation

Substitute 12 regular lasagna noodles, broken into small pieces, for the oven-ready noodles. Increase water to 2 cups and cook 30 min., stirring occasionally.

I used Paul Newman's sacarooni spaghetti sauce which has bell peppers in it. I cooked the noodles separately, omitting the water & then added it all together. Very good!

This was good but not great. My husband and son didn't like the bell peppers. I thought there wasn't enough depth of flavor. It could have been the spaghetti sauce I used.

this was very good it makes a lot more than you think!! the only thing i would change is instead of peppers i would but Tomatoes in bc there are no peppers in traditional lasagna

I tried this recipe last week and it was delicious. Used 1 green pepper instead of 2, penne pasta and a larger jar of spagetti sauce. My husband isn't a fan of pasta casseroles, but he did like this one. I will definitely make it again.
